BHEL, Tiruchirappalli a major Manufacturing unit with a workforce of over 11,000 employees is currently looking for Security Personnel (Males only) for its Units at Tiruchirapalli and Thirumayam in the following posts:

Sub-Inspector Gr.III (Security) –  173 posts (Tiruchirapalli – 144 Nos & Thirumayam 29 Nos)

Sub-Inspector Gr.III (Fire) –  63 posts (Tiruchirapalli – 56 Nos & Thirumayam – 7 Nos)

Qualification:

Sub-Inspector Gr.III (Security)

1. Full time Graduation from a recognised University.

2. Experience: Minimum three years in a similar function in the Defence Forces / Territorial Army / Police / Govt./PSU/Listed Company. Other things being equal, ‘B’ or ‘C’ Certificate of NCC will be preferred.

Sub-Inspector Gr.III (Fire)

1. Full time Graduation from a recognised University.

2. Experience : Minimum three years experience in the Fire fighting Force of State Fire Services / Central Police Organisations / PSU / Listed Company Other things being equal, Certificate Course in Fire fighting from a Institute registered with Central/State Govt. will be preferred.

Age:32 years for General Candidates as on 01/11/2011. Relaxation of age is applicable as per government rules.

Selection Process
The selection process will consist of Written Test (80% weightage) and Physical Fitness (Qualifying only) and Personal Interview (20% weightage).

I. Written Test:
The written test will be of multiple choice Objective Type questions on Aptitude, General Awareness and related to Security / Fire Safety. The Question Booklets will be trilingual in English/Hindi/Tamil languages. On the basis of merit of Written Test marks, candidates will then be invited for Physical Fitness Test in the ratio of 1:4 to the number of vacancies. The physical fitness test comprises of Physical Measurement Test, Physical Endurance Test and Physical Efficiency Test.

II. Tests of Physical Fitness:

1. Physical Measurement Test :
Candidates should qualify the minimum standards prescribed for height and Chest measurement as given below, failing which their candidature will not be considered further.

Height
Security Sub-Inspector Gr.III – 168 cms
Security Sub-Inspector Gr.III (Fire) – 165 cms

Chest measurement
Chest Unexpanded – 79 cms
Chest Expanded – 84 cms

2. Physical Endurance Test :
Candidate should clear the Physical Endurance test of running 1.6 kilometers in 6.5 minutes or less failing which they would not cross over to the next stage of the selection process.

3. Physical Efficiency Test :
The candidate is required to participate in the following events and qualify all the events at the minimum standard.
Event Min Standard
Running 400 mtrs 80.00 sec
Long Jump (or) High Jump in 3 chances Long Jump 3.65 mtrs.
High Jump 1.2 mtrs.

III. Personal interview :
Candidates who qualify all the Physical Fitness test mentioned above are eligible to attend the personal interview.
