PAID INTERNSHIP FOR ENGINEERING / SCIENCE UG & PG STUDENTS

Defence Materials and Stores Research & Development Establishment (DMSRDE), Kanpur, one of the premier laboratories of the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO), invites applications from Indian citizen students with excellent academic records for a Paid Internship for a period of Six months.

Applications are invited from eligible final year students pursuing under-graduation / post-graduation in Engineering / Science in the prescribed format, latest by 28 September 2026.

1. Minimum Educational Qualifications

Pursuing Graduate in Engineering / Post Graduate in Engineering and Science (full-time course) in the respective discipline from a recognized Indian University / Institute.
(Final Year Students Only)

2. Duration of Internship

The duration of internship / project work will be for a period of 06 months. A Completion Certificate will be issued to students after successful completion of 06 months from the date of joining the Internship.

3. Selection Procedure

DMSRDE / DRDO shall offer Paid Internship to students having good academic records with 65% and above marks (or ≥ 6.5 CGPA) from AICTE / UGC approved College / Universities.
Dean / HOD / Director / Principal of the institution should send a request letter for Paid Internship for their highly deserving meritorious students only.
Age Limit: Below 28 years (as on September 2026).
Eligible students will be selected based on CGPA / Online Interview / Interaction as required, subject to satisfactory verification of documents.
Selected students will be notified about the joining procedures only through the email ID mentioned in the application form.
Incomplete / erroneous applications or applications received after the due date will be out-rightly rejected. No further communication will be entertained.
Selection will be based solely on merit. No communication will be entertained for non-selected candidates.

4. Documents Required along with Application

Application Form (as per prescribed format)
Request letter from Institute / University (on college letterhead, signed by Principal / Director)
Undertaking of Indian Official Secrets Act & IT Rules and Regulations
High School Mark Sheet
All previous Mark Sheets of the concerned course (Under-graduation / Post-graduation)
Copy of Photo Identity Card issued by the Institute / University
Student Bio-data

5. Procedure for Submission of Application

An advance copy of the application form along with all required documents should be sent by email to: [email protected] on or before 28 September 2026.
Hard copy of relevant documents must be sent by Speed Post / By Hand (at DMSRDE Main Gate) to the following address:

On the top of the envelope, the student should clearly mention:
“Application for Paid Internship – Branch Code ……”

Last Date for receipt of Application: 28 September 2026 (up to 17:00 hours)
No application will be entertained after the cut-off date.

6. Boarding / Lodging

No boarding or lodging expenses are admissible.

7. Payment of Stipend

Stipend for the 06-month internship is applicable only when the student is present at the laboratory for a minimum of 15 working days per month.
Payment will be made in two installments:
- First installment after 03 months of Internship
- Second installment after completion of 06 months of Internship
Stipend will be paid directly into the bank account of the student.

8. Award of Certificate

A Completion Certificate will be issued to the students after successful completion of the 06-month internship period.
