Ph.D. Admission Notice for 2026-27
(Under Visvesvaraya PhD Scheme for Electronics and IT – Phase-II)
Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Govt. of India has awarded Maulana Azad National Urdu University support under the Visvesvaraya Ph.D. Scheme for Electronics and IT: Phase-II.
Total number of available fellowships under this scheme is 02 (One (01) Full-Time and one (01) Part-Time). This fellowship is applicable for both full-time Ph.D. Scholars and Part-Time Scholars. Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to the PhD programme for the Academic Session 2026-27 under the ‘Visvesvaraya PhD Scheme for Electronics and IT: Phase-II’ as per the following details:

Major Features of the Scheme
For Full-Time Scholars:
- Fellowship: Rs. 46,250/- per month in 1st and 2nd year and Rs. 52,500/- per month in the 3rd, 4th and 5th years of PhD (support till PhD completion or 5 years, whichever is earlier).
- Reimbursement of Rent (RoR): Linked with the fellowship. Rate of RoR is 24%, 16% & 8% (of fellowship) for X, Y & Z class cities/towns respectively (as per Ministry of Finance notification for HRA).
- Research Contingency Grant Support: Rs. 1,20,000/- per year for Full-time PhD candidates.
- Support for attending international conferences: One-time support up to Rs. 1.5 lakhs for full-time PhD candidates.
- Visit to Labs abroad: Only selected candidates fulfilling eligibility criteria (guidelines to be provided in due course) will be supported.
For Part-Time Scholars:
- Fellowship / Incentive: Part-time candidates who do not avail any PhD Fellowship/scholarship/stipend from any Central or State Government shall be provided a one-time incentive of Rs. 3 Lakh on successful completion of the PhD degree.
Eligibility Criteria (Essential)
- Post-Graduation in Computer Science / Computer Applications / Information Technology / or related interdisciplinary branch of Computer Technology with 55% marks and the eligibility criteria prescribed in general guidelines.
OR - 1-year/2-semester master’s degree program in Computer Science / Computer Applications / Information Technology / or related interdisciplinary branch of Computer Technology after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree program.
OR - 2-year/4-semester master’s degree program in Business Management with specialization of Computer Science or IT / Data Analytics or related interdisciplinary specialization of Computer Technology with 55% marks and the eligibility criteria prescribed in general guidelines after a 4-year bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science / Information Technology.
Application Procedure
- The application form is to be filled with all relevant documents attached at https://manuucoe.in/regularAdmission/
- All applications not in prescribed form / without relevant supporting enclosures / received after the last date / without application fees will be out rightly rejected. No correspondence shall be entertained in this regard.
- The last date for submission of application is 05.10.2026 up to 17:30 Hrs.
- The Application Fee is to be paid online and is non-refundable.
- No TA/DA and Lodging/Boarding will be paid for attending the Entrance Test / Interview; no accommodation shall be provided.
- Any corrigendum / changes / updates shall be available only on the University’s Website: https://manuu.edu.in/. Candidates are advised to visit the website regularly for updates.
All other details mentioned in the MANUU admission advertisement dt. 05.04.2026 in the 2026-27 prospectus are applicable for this scheme.
Selection Process for Admission
- For all candidates, an Entrance Test will be conducted for admission under the Visvesvaraya PhD scheme.
- PhD Admissions shall be based on Entrance Test and Online/Offline Interview.
- Candidates will be selected based on their performance in the written test and/or interview.

Notes on Entrance Test:
- The Entrance Examination will be conducted only at the Headquarters (Hyderabad Campus) in the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology.
- Qualifying marks in the entrance test and interview will be 50%.
- Part A: 50 MCQ questions (25 on Research Methodology + 25 on Computer Science) – 1 mark each.
- Part B: 4 Descriptive questions (2 from Research Methodology + 2 from Computer Science) – 5 marks each.
- Candidates who secure 50% marks in the Entrance Test will be called for Interview.

- 12th Standard Certificate / Diploma Certificate
- Graduation mark sheets for all years
- Graduation Degree Certificate
- Master’s Degree & Mark-Sheets for all semesters
- SC/ST/PwD Certificates (wherever applicable) in prescribed proforma of Central Government only
- Application fee payment receipt
Original Documents and ID Proof must be produced during the documentation verification process. Failing this, the candidate may not be allowed to appear for the Selection Process.

Instructions to Candidates
- Candidates are advised to be present in the examination hall 30 minutes before the commencement of the Entrance Test (ET).
- Only those candidates who possess a valid Admit Card and a valid ID card (College ID / Aadhaar card / Driving License) shall be permitted to take the Entrance Test.
- No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination centre after the examination has commenced.
- The candidates will be permitted to write the entrance examination only at the Headquarters, Hyderabad Campus.
