Assistant Commandant(Works and Electrical) in BSF

Applications are invited from male and female Indian citizens for appointment of following group ‘A’ post of Assistant Commandant (Works/Electrical) in the Border Security Force, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

Age Limit:

a)    21 to 26 years as on closing date on receipt of application which will be 30 days from date of publication of Advertisement. Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST, Govt. Servants and 03 year for OBC category candidates.

b)    The relaxation in upper age limit of 05 years shall also be admissible to all candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the state of Jammu and Kashmir during the period from 01 Jan 1980 to 31 Dec 1989. Candidates from the state of Jammu and Kashmir claiming age relaxation should produce a certificate obtained from the District Magistrate within whose jurisdiction they had ordinarily resided or from authority designated in the behalf by the Govt, of J &K .

c)    Five years of age relaxation in upper age limit shall also be granted to the children and dependent family members of those who were killed in the communal riots of the year 1984 and Gujarat riots of the year 2002. For getting this benefit, the children and dependent family member of those killed in the riots should produce a certificate to the effect from the concerned District Collectors, SC/ST/OBC relaxation as per Govt, instruction will be in addition.

NOTE -.-Candidates should note that the Date of Birth as recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary Examination Certificate or an equivalent certificate only available on the closing date of submission of application will be accepted for determining the age eligibility and no subsequent request for its change will be considered or granted.

Educational Qualification:

1. AC(Works) Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university/Institution.
2. AC(Electrical) Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university/Institution.

Selection Procedure:

The selection shall be held in three phases as under :-

A) First Phase (Written Examination):- The standard of paper will be on

Degree in Civil/Electrical Engineering consisting of the following subjects:-

First Paper :- ( Objective Type) Time 02Hrs

i)                  General English                    40 Marks

ii)                General Studies                    40 Marks

iii)              Civil/Elect Engineering 120 Marks

Total              200 Marks

Second Paper (Conventional Type) Time- 2Hrs

i) Civil/Elect Engineering 100 Marks

B) Second Phase

i) Documentation

ii)    Physical Measurement

iii) PET(PhysicaI Efficiency Test):- The following events will be examined in PET :-

b) The last date of receipt of application in respect of candidates belonging to areas of North Eastern State, Ladakh division of J&K, Sikkim Pangi Sub division of Chamba, Lahul and SpitiDist of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar and Lakshdweep Islands is within 45 days after date of publication of Advertisement.

a) The application should be accompanied with attested copies of certificates for proof of age, education qualification, Technical Qualification, SC/ST/OBC and other tribe/hill areas (domicile),wherever applicable, as well as a bank draft for Rs. 100/- as examination fee to be drawn in favour of at respective centre. SC/ST and departmental candidates are not required to remit examination fee.

ii) Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

iii) Three recent passport size photographs duly attested by a Gazette officer should be attached to the application. One each photograph to be affixed on the application form and admit card and third one to be kept in record. Two self addressed envelopes of size of 25 xl2 cms with postal stamp worth Rs. 27/- each should also be attached with the application form. The envelope containing application must be super scribed in bold letters as “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF ASSISTANT COMMANDANT (WORKS/ELECTRICAL) IN BSF.
