The appointment shall be purely on contract basis initially for a period of one year, extendable until completion of the assignment subject to mutual consent and satisfactory performance. The selected candidate will be posted under the projects of Southern Region, Chennai. Pay, allowances and perks would be as under:

Selection Process: The final selection will be through Written Test and Personal Interview of shortlisted candidates to be held in RITES Inspection Office, Chennai. Candidates have the option to select Hindi or English as the medium for interview.

Date of Written Test will be communicated through email to the shortlisted candidates and will also be displayed on RITES Website.

Final selection will be through written and interview of shortlisted candidates:

Based on the performance in Written Test, candidates will be further shortlisted for the Personal Interview. Candidates have the option to select Hindi or English as the medium for interview.

While submitting the online application the system would generate ‘Registration No.’ on the top of such filled online form. SELECTION PROCEDURE:

  • Selection will be made on the basis of sports performance/field trials and interview. Merely satisfying the eligibility norms does not entitle a candidate to be called for selection.
  • Only shortlisted candidates will be called for field trials. On the basis of performance in the field trials, candidates will be further shortlisted for interviews for final selection.

ICRISAT is a non-profit, apolitical, international organization for science-based agricultural development. Established in 1972, it is an Alliance of centers of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), and supported by more than 48 governments, foundations, and development banks. To reduce poverty, enhance crop productivity and food security and to protect the environment, ICRISAT research focuses on farming systems and crop improvement, management and utilization of sorghum, pearl millet, pigeonpea, chickpea, and groundnut in the semi-arid tropics.

Responsibilities:

  • Digitization of Revenue maps, toposheets and etc
  • Data entry of statistics from books
  • Support to large format printing Collect data from partners
  • Assist the RS specialist in tasks related to interpretation of the imagery
  • Support to web designing and automated algorithms

Competencies:

  • Experience working in a Remote sensing lab or similar environment
  • Experience in programming is highly desirable
  • Some experience in Semi Arid Tropics (SAT) related research desirable
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Good knowledge of ERDAS or ENVI, ArcGIS, Auto CAD and MS Excel.  Some knowledge of R.

Requirements:
Master’s / Bachelor’s  degree in Remote Sensing, GIS or related fields

Specialization: Optometry & Vision Science – (UR-2, OBC-1)

Qualifications: M.Sc/M.Phil in Optometry with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks and a consistently good academic record. A minimum of 3 years experience in teaching and clinical training is essential.

Terms & Conditions of appointment:

  1. Tenure: The appointments are purely temporary and will be for a period not exceeding Six months. The appointments are renewable based on the requirement of the School and based on re-interview after the completion of the tenure of appointment. The reservation of the posts will be as per Government of India rules as assigned by the University roster system.
  2. Emoluments: The scale of pay will be Rs. 15,600/- (basic) + all other allowances as applicable as per the VI pay commission pay scales of UGC. Additional increments will be considered for candidates having M.Phil/Ph.D as per rules. Medical degree holders will be considered for Non-practicing allowance (NPA) if applicable as per rules.
  3.
