NPTI Admission Notiifcation 2012 for Post Diploma In Thermal Power Plant Engineering

National Power Training Institute (ER) An ISO 9001-2000 & ISO 14001 Certified Organizations (Ministry of Power, Govt. of India) invites applications from the eligible candidates for one year Post Diploma In Thermal Power Plant Engineering  (2012-13)

 This course is of one year duration (2 semesters) and covers all aspects of Operation & Maintenance of Thermal Power Plants and includes 2 weeks Simulator Training at Faridabad/Nagpur. Formal coaching shall be held at the Regional Institute of NPTI, located at Durgapur (West Bengal). On-job training is conducted at the nearby Power Stations. The course authorizes the Diploma Holders to operate or undertake maintenance of any part or whole of generating station of capacity 100 MW and above together with the associated sub-stations.

Eligibility:

Three years Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical/ Instrumentation from a recognized technical board of the state/central Govt. with minimum of 60% marks with I class/I Grade).Graduate engineers are not eligible .

 Selection Procedure:

As per Merit (% of marks in Diploma) and subsequent counseling.

Age limit: 27 years as on 01.01.2012 No age limit for sponsored candidates.

Total Seats:

72(seventy two)-provisional. Reservation for SC/ST/ OBC/ Physically challenged and other categories is applicable as per Govt. of India norms for non-sponsored candidates. 25% seats are reserved for sponsored candidates from Power utilities having more than one year experience and more than 65% marks in Diploma with Class I/I Grade.

 Placements:

NPTI maintains close linkage with Power Utilities for employment of non-sponsored candidates only. NPTI will not take any efforts for placement of SPONSORED Candidates

Application are to be filled On Line with Demand Draft( DD for prescribed Registration fees of Rs. 800/- in favour of NPTI(ER) payable at Durgapur, must be ready at the time of on line registration).The other details are available on our site www.nptidurgapur.com.

  Fees:

For non-sponsored candidates Rs. 1,10,000/- (in two installments). For sponsored candidates Rs. 1,50,000/- payable in lump sum at the time of admission. There is no fee concession for any category of candidates. Refundable security of Rs. 2500/- and Rs. 3000/- as Transport charges for visits to power stations and industries are payable at the time of admission. (Travelling expenses are to be borne by the participants for Simulator Training).

Fees for candidates from Foreign Countries: e SAARC Countries: US $ 10,000/- Other Countries : US $ 11,000/-

 

Lodging/Boarding: Hostel rent of Rs. 21,600/- per annum (@ Rs.1800/- per month) per participant to be paid in two installments. Separate hostel facility for girls is available.

Hostel facility is subject to availability of accommodation. Food is available on chargeable basis at Canteen attached with hostel.

CMAT 2012 Notification

AICTE is conducting the first National level Common Management Admission Test (CMAT)-2012 for facilitating institutions to select suitable students for admission in all management programmes approved by AICTE for the year 2012-13.

The testing window for computer based test will be open for nine days i.e. from 20th February, 2012 to 28th February, 2012 in 61 cities. The candidates will have option of selecting date and city for appearing in the test.

1) Junior Engineering Assistant-IV (Production) – 09 Nos

Qualification:

3 years Diploma in Chemical Engineering with minimum 60% marks or B.Sc. with Physics, Chemistry and Maths with minimum 60% marks

Post Qualification Experience:

Minimum 2 years experience in operation (in rotating shift) of Pump House, Fired Heater, Compressor, Distillation column/reactor in a Petroleum Refinery, petrochemical or Fertilizer/Heavy chemical/Gas Processing Industry. Knowledge of safety aspects of handling Petroleum, Petrochemical products is essential

2) Junior Engineering Assistant-IV (Instrumentation) – 02 Nos

Qualification:

3 years Diploma in Instrumentation / Industrial Electronics Engineering with minimum 60% marks

Post Qualification Experience:

Minimum 02 years experience in maintenance of Electronic Instruments of a large Chemical Plant like Petroleum Refinery / Fertilizer / Petrochemical Complex or a large Power plant (more than 100 MW capacity). Knowledge of layout / Installation standard / Cable schedule / wiring diagram / Impulse piping / Cu-tubing / Fluid Pressure / Temperature / Level Inst. / Control valve is essential. Work experience of DCS/PLC & Analyzer shall have added advantage.

3) Junior Engineering Assistant-IV (Electrical Maintenance) – 13 Nos

Qualification:

3 yrs Diploma in Electrical Engineering with minimum 60% marks.

Post Qualification Experience:

Minimum 02 years experience in operation of Generator /Distribution of Substation comprising of both HT and LT at 0.4 and 6.6 KV level or above; and/or maintenance of HT/LT Switchgears (PCC& MCC), Transformers, Motors, Starters, Storage Batteries, Battery chargers, UPS, variable speed drivers, protection relays etc. Candidates with experience of operation and maintenance of Electronic Telephone Exchanges, maintenance of Electronic Meters, Electromagnetic/ Static/Numerical Relays, shall have added advantage.

4) Junior Engineering Assistant-IV- (Mechanical Maintenance- Rotary Equipment) – 02 Nos

Qualification:

3 years Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 60% marks or Matric with ITI in Fitter Trade with minimum 60% marks.

Post Qualification Experience:

Minimum 02 years experience for diploma holders & 03 years experience for Matric with ITI in Mechanical Maintenance of large Chemical Plant like Petroleum Refinery / Fertilizer / Petrochemical Complex. Candidates should have Knowledge of Rotary Equipment maintenance like pumps / compressors / turbine, alignment, vibration monitoring. Work experience on Centrifugal/Reciprocating compressor shall have added advantage.

5) Junior Engineering Assistant-IV (Fire & Safety) – 1 No

Qualification:

1.Matric /SSC with Sub officers’ course from Nagpur & HMV License Or Matric /SSC with Fireman’s course & HMV License from recognized institute
2. Physical Standards :-
Height-165 CM, Weight – 50 KG Chest: Normal-81 CM, Expanded – 86 CM
Eyesight normal without glasses, colour vision normal. Free from any vertigo problem, disease of heart, lungs kidney and abnormal blood pressure.

Post Qualification Experience:

Minimum 2 years experience in Petroleum/ Petrochemical / Fertilizer / Gas Processing Plant.

6) Junior Engineering Assistant-IV- (Mechanical Maintenance- Machinist) – 02 Nos

Qualification:

3 years Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 60% marks or Matric with ITI in Machinist Trade with minimum 60% marks.

Post Qualification Experience:

Minimum 02 years experiencefor diploma holders & 03 years experience for Matric with ITI on Machines like Lathe, Boring / Shaping / Drilling machine etc. Work experience on Vertical Boring Machine shall have added advantage.

Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 26 years as on 01.09.2011 for Junior Engineering Assistant-IV (Electrical Maintenance), where as for other posts it is calculated as on 01.10.2011.

Selection Methodology: The selection methodology will comprise of written test followed by Interview of the short listed candidates. Written test and interview shall be conducted at Mathura. Canvassing in any form will be considered a disqualification
