Application are invited from eligible candidates for the post of Research/ Technical Assistant position in DST Project entitled “Unraveling the potential role of Inhibitor of Apoptotic Proteins (IAP) in innate and adaptive immunity against Chlamydia pneumoniae pulmonary infection model system” for the period of one year.

The project is dealing with the perturbation of host Apoptotic pathways during chronic lung infection with Intracellular pathogens like Chlamydia pneumonia. For the detailed information about the project kindly refer to (Prakash et al, 2009 Plos One, Prakash et al, 2010 JBC).

In project we are using several immunological and molecular approaches ( siRNA Knockdown method e.g. ) to unravel the role of IAP proteins in Nitric Oxide and Tumor Necrotic factor parameters in the infected macrophages and epithelium and their co culture model system. We would employ noninvasive in tracheal infection method in animal model system therefore candidate is expected to have some prior experience with Animal handling / cell culture and molecular techniques like western analysis.

Necessary Qualification: M.Sc. Biotechnology/Life Sciences/ Biochemistry
Desired Profile: Minimum six months of research experience
Duration: One year
