An walk-in interview will be conducted on 23 May 2014 at 11.00 A.M. for recruitment of six (6) Project-linked Junior Research Fellows on purely temporary basis to work in the following projects in the Agricultural and Ecological Research Unit of the Institute.

Qualifications:
Essential: Masters degree in any Biological sciences from a recognised University/Institute with consistently good academic record.
Desirable: Experimental work on Nanobiotechnology or Nanoscience.

Fellowship: Rs.15,600/- per month (consolidated) and depending on the qualification and experience.

Tenure of Appointment: The appointment will be upto 31 March 2015 which may be extended later/terminated earlier, depending on availability of funds & performance of the candidate.

Age: Should not exceed 35 years as on 01 May 2014 with usual relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/Women/Differently allied candidates. Age may be relaxed for outstanding candidate or candidates with relevant experience.

Candidates appearing for the interview are required to bring with them the application addressed to the Professor-in-Charge, Biological Sciences Division, Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata along with bio-data stating (a) Name; (b) Address and Telephone number; (c) E-mail address; (d) Guardian’s Name; (e) Date of Birth; (f) Educational Qualifications (with percentage of marks obtained in each examination); (g) SC/ST/OBC status along with attested copies of all certificates. They should also bring the original copies of the certificates for verification. L&T Hydrocarbon Scholarship for M.Tech. in IIT Madras

The L&T Hydrocarbon – IIT Scholarship is part of the Company’s initiatives to extend interface with India’s premier academic institutions.

The two-year M.Tech. in Offshore Structural Engineering at IIT Madras will open up exciting careers with L&T Hydrocarbon. On offer are opportunities to learn and execute complex projects with new technologies, including the challenging deep-water area worldwide..

Qualifications: First Class B.E / B.Tech. graduates with minimum of 60% marks / 6.5 CGPA (or 55% marks / 6 CGPA for SC / ST candidates) in Civil / Structural Engineering from a recognized Indian University/ Institute and qualified in GATE.

Selection Process: Short-listed candidates will be called for written Test to be conducted by IIT Madras in co-ordination with L&T at 4 metro cities :Madras,Delhi,Mumbai and Kolkata on 17th May 2014.

Candidates who clear the written test, will be called for Interview at IIT Madras on 5th / 6th June 2014.Final selection will be based upon the interview results & also subject to medical fitness as certified by L&T’s authorized medical centres.

Undertaking: Selected candidates will have to execute an undertaking for a value of Rs. 6.50 lakhs to serve the company for a minimum period of 5 years after completion of the course.

Scholarship: A stipend of Rs. 9000/- per month will be paid by L&T for the entire duration of the course.

Award: The top three (3) ranking successful students of the course will be awarded an amount of Rs 1 lakh each.

Absorption: On successful completion of the course, the candidates will be absorbed in regular employment in accordance with the terms and conditions of the company. Total emoluments on absorption will be up to Rs. 5 lakhs per annum on Cost-to-Company (CTC) basis.
